Battle tanks and other modern weapons promised by the West to fight Russia’s stepped-up drive are what the Ukrainian armed forces are waiting for. Putin has stated that only winning the war is acceptable, and Ukraine cannot afford for Russia to acquire its territory.

A tank combat between the Ukrainian and Russian forces took place in Mikolai’s Central Street, and the Russian attack was ultimately repelled after five or six weeks.
